Western Balkans: Course Outline published in four languages to support S4D instructors

Approaching the end of the turbulent year 2020 the S4D team on Social Inclusion through Sport in the Western Balkan Region is proud to publish the jointly developed Course Outline for a basic level Training of Trainers. It is aimed to support the S4D instructors to pass on the basic principles of S4D and better structure their trainings for teachers, sport coaches and social workers.

The manual is combined with a presentation and structured into 5 theoretical and practical learning units. The units provide guidance regarding the content, duration and learning objectives of the training. The course includes an overview of the S4D concept, describes the potential of applying and adapting small games to specific learning outcomes, highlights the implementation of inclusive sport practices, aims for learning through physical activity and explains the relevance of reflection in S4D.

The Course Outline is a product, (which has been) developed during our S4D instructor’s trainings throughout 2019. It has been a co-creation effort of sport and development cooperation experts and around 30 local S4D instructors from our partner networks in Fier (ALB), Fushe Kosove (KOS), Brcko District (BIH), Novi Beograd (SER) and Kriva Palanka (MKD). Therefore, the Course Outline is now available in four languages including MacedonianSerbian/Bosnian/CroatianAlbanian and English language. We are looking forward to its dissemination and further implementation in the Western Balkans in 2021.
