Welcome to our Country Collection!
From 2012 to 2025, German development cooperation implemented Sport for Development (S4D) projects and programmes in numerous countries across the globe, working closely with a wide range of local and international partner organisations. Over time, a wealth of S4D knowledge and resources has been developed — adapted to different countries, languages, sports codes, and thematic priorities. We are happy to make this valuable expertise available to you.

The practice of sports has historically been a tool to enable spaces for social cohesion and integration. Therefore, it becomes an important ally to build bridges and to develop joint actions for the mental well-being and physical health of the Ecuadorian population.
From 2020 to 2022, the Ministry of Sport of Ecuador, together with the GIZ’s Sector Programme Sport for Development and the SI Frontera Program, and with the support of the European Union, have implemented learning processes within the framework of the "Sport with Principles" method. Moreover, several strategiescontributed to mitigating the consequences of the COVID-19 health crisis.
In Ecuador, workshops for female and male leaders, teachers and trainers focused on violence prevention and conflict resolution, with a strong emphasis on young people and migrants. The training process integrated previous experiences of cooperation between Colombia and Paraguay, as well as the consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The documents developed in Colombia were adapted to the context and use in Ecuador.
We invite you to have a look at the following teaching and learning material, which was created by the German Development Cooperation (GIZ) on behalf of the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and our partner organizations in Ecuador.
